Identity Resolution
Techniques for resolving decentralized identity clusters.
When multiple Fide IDs (e.g., from x.com/alice and github.com/alice) are linked via owl:sameAs statements, they form a cluster of Fide IDs representing the same entity.
To consistently identify this entity, indexers must choose a single Primary Fide ID from the cluster.
There are two initially suggested strategies for this:
Min Calculated Fide ID
The standard, decentralized approach. Determines the Primary Fide ID using simple lexical hashing. Fast, deterministic, and requires no coordination.
Genesis Statement Fide ID
An advanced pattern for stable identity. Derives a permanent Fide ID from the entity's first appearance in the graph to prevent ID rotation.
