Overview
Introduction to the Fide ID DID method.
Fide ID gives entities stable, portable identifiers.
It is designed for identification, not control. A Fide ID identifies an entity from declared type information and a reference identifier, but it does not by itself prove authorship, authority, or ownership. Fide ID is normative for identifier mechanics (shape, parsing, normalization, and validation flow), while Fide Vocabulary is normative for valid entity types, valid reference types, and allowed entity-type/reference-type combinations.
DID Specification
See Specification for the did:fide method in compliance with DID.
Fide Ecosystem Alignment
- Fide Vocabulary defines the entity types and per-entity identifier constraints used by Fide ID
- Fide Context Protocol uses Fide ID as its identifier method for statements and graph data
