External standards used by the did:fide method.
The did:fide method relies on a small set of external standards for DID syntax, text encoding, hashing, and URI syntax.
DID
DID Core defines the model and syntax used by this method.
- MUST use DID Core for
Fide ID Format, includingPrefix.
UTF-8
RFC 3629 defines the UTF-8 text encoding used by this method.
- MUST use UTF-8 before hashing the
Reference Identifier.
SHA-256
FIPS 180-4 defines the SHA-256 hashing algorithm used by this method.
- MUST use SHA-256 to derive the
Reference Fingerprint.
URI
RFC 3986 defines the URI syntax used by NetworkResource reference identifiers.
- MUST use URI syntax for
NetworkResourcereference identifiers.
