Resolution
Deterministic resolution rules for did:fide identifiers.
Resolution expands a valid Fide ID into a DID Document using method rules alone.
Fide ID resolution does not require registry lookup.
Requirements
Resolution Process
Any implementation that resolves Fide IDs MUST:
- parse the method-specific identifier
- validate the Fide ID shape
- extract the Entity Type, Reference Type, and Reference Fingerprint segments
- return the DID Document defined by this method
Resolution Output
A successful resolution result SHOULD include:
- the resolved DID Document
- any method metadata required by DID resolution conventions
A failed resolution result MUST indicate why the Fide ID is invalid when the input does not conform to the method syntax.
